SUPERNAIVE are two brothers from Paris, France, merging electronic and acoustic music in a delicate and unique manner. After the success of their first release “Dazed & Confused” in June 2017, SUPERNAIVE returns with their latest EP “Lions & Pigs” in April 2018.

The two brothers are not new to the music world. Their previous project « Joy! » has been acclaimed by critics (Inrocks Labs, Trax Magazine, Le Tournedisque, Délicieuse Musique, We Music Music…), and allowed them to play at venues such as Le Bataclan (Paris), Standard Hotel (New York), Social Room (Hong Kong) or Solfa (Tokyo).

This musical journey leads them to define the identity of a new hybrid and contemporary project, at the crossroads of electronic and acoustic sonorities, borrowing as much from French Touch than from Warp Electronica and UK Pop.

The transformation from « JOY! » to « SUPERNAIVE », which also marks the arrival of Korean singer Na-Kyung Lee into the band, is the bearer of a unique artistic proposal.

Dark and enigmatic, the four titles of “Lions & Pigs” were composed under the suffocating heat of Paris in summer, drowning in sweat and alcohol. We find ourselves in the middle of a musical universe on steroids, organic, damp and sticky, mirroring more metallic and sharp industrial sounds. The tracks mix brutality and tenderness, depicting as we listen to them, a nocturnal, tortured landscape.

Unlike their first EP, this second one represents the « Super » side of SUPERNAIVE. Lucas and Baptiste, blood and sound brothers, invited NAL to sing once again on two of their compositions. Since their meeting in 2015, the singer and the musicians got closer, building together little by little the structure of a deeper project. They sign here a radical and asserted artistic turn, and offer you a particularly singular musical experience.

“Dazed & Confused” refers to a film by Richard Linklater released in 1993, which depicts the last day of high school students at the beginning of ‘76 summer holidays. With this EP, SUPERNAIVE talks about adolescence, sex, girls, and transition to adulthood, with its ups and downs, as shown in the music video of their track Opal Waltz (see below). This first EP represents the more « Naive »  side of the duo.
